A Relay Scheme Using Symbol likelihood information for Network Coding in Two-hop Wireless Relay Systems

(in English) This paper proposes a new relay method that makes it able to achieve diversity combining for relayed signal and over-reach signal by remaining the symbol likelihood information on the symbols of network coded packet when error bits happen in the demodulated native packet at the relay node in the two way multi-hop wireless communication. Relayed signal and over-reach signal indicate the native packet and the network coded packet respectively. The relayed symbols of coded packet with symbol likelihood information can prevent decision error propagation to the destination node. It means that the destination node can regard the relayed packet with likelihood information as the packet with low likelihood. Therefore diversity gain at the destination node can be obtained in the case of incorrect relayed packet as well. With proposed method, error vector of the received symbol at a relay node is employed as likelihood information. Error vectors are added to the modulated symbol of coded packet only when the native packets cannot be demodulated correctly. This proposed relay method can improve diversity gain at the destination node using the over-reach signal. Computer simulation results verify that the proposed scheme can improve diversity gain obtained at the destination nodes.
