Study on Timing Synchronization for Decentralized TDMA Protocol Using External Synchronizing Signals

(in English) Recently, research has been developed for decentralized time division multiple access (TDMA) with no base stations
in vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET).
Although slot allocation methods have been studied in decentralized TDMA, relatively fewer researches have been reported for timing synchronization which are necessary for decentralized TDMA. In fact, many researches on decentralized TDMA implicitly assume that high precision timing reference is available such as from GPS. However, in reality, timing reference is neither always available, nor has high precision even if it is available. Taking such situations into account, this research considers the possibility of a new decentralized timing synchronization incorporating available timing references like GPS, and its performance is analyzed through systematic simulations.
