Space Division Multiplexing for MC-CDMA Based on Phase Rotation

(in English) Multi-carrier-code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) has been attracting much attention because of its capabilities to eliminate the adverse effect of inter-symbol interference (ISI) resulting from the multipath fading channel and to obtain the frequency diversity gain through frequency domain spreading and frequency domain equalization (FDE). To increase the transmission rate without freuqency bandwidth expansion, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is a promissing technique. In this paper, we propose a signal detection method which establish a virtual MIMO sytem by using the multipath components with different time delays as a virtual receive antenna in the case of the number of receive antennas being smaller than that of transmit antennas. In the proposed method, the inter-path interference (IPI) can be completely eliminated by multiplying the inverse phase rotation based on the delay of each path in the frequency domain. The bit error rate (BER) performance of the proposed method is evaluated by computer simulation.
