Effects of Metal Piece Structure on Bandwidth Characteristics of Card Antenna

(in English) It is well-known that a small antenna has narrowband characteristics. However, a small antenna which has broadband characteristics is required for realizing the wireless broadband communication. This paper describes the limitations of the relative frequency bandwidth and the lowest frequency of a small-sized card antenna. Here, the card antenna is designed, and the effects of metal piece shape and size on bandwidth characteristics of card antennas are clarified by using the genetic algorithm. By the simulation results, it is verified that the maximum relative bandwidth is 155% when the metal piece shape is square and the size is 1/120 of the outside frame lengths, and the normalized lowest frequency is 0.44f0 when the metal piece shape is trapezoid.
