| (in English) | In this paper, we propose MagicCup suitable for table-top AR environment as the interface for controlling the virtual object. MagicCup uses a real cup as control interface. MagicCup is a handheld input device. It has the tracker which detects six-dimensional information of the position and the pose. Wand is the 3D user interface that has this feature. MagicCup is a kind of wands. The interaction method with the virtual object by MagicCup uses the affordance of ``covering''. This affordance is different from the affordance of the conventional wands. Most conventional wands have the affordance of the ``Pointing'' or ``Touching''. In evaluation experiments, in order to evaluate the fundamental characteristic of MagicCup, we compared three interaction methods, ``covering'' and ``pointing'' and ``touching''. The results showed there were the difference of fundamental characteristic by the difference of the interaction methods. | |
