| (in English) | In April 2008, JGN2plus succeeded the JGN2 project. JGN2plus can be used as a testbed environment for the new-generation Internet project, which was started at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). It can also facilitate the interaction between the existing Internet and the new-generation Internet. The new-generation Internet aims at a over layered communication of the OSI layered model. When the prototype communication began, the legacy monitoring tools could not provide sufficient information for operating this network. Hence, JGN2plus has to first build an advanced monitoring infrastructure for targeting the new-generation Internet communication. perfSONAR is planned as the middleware that will organize the monitoring tools between several networks. This idea is going to be the standard actually. In JGN2plus, one of the implementations of perfSONAR is chosen and will be installed at several locations in the JGN2plus backbone network. JGN2plus has also announced the call for proposals of developing perfSONAR-compatible monitoring technologies.This report discusses such activities. | |
