Measurements of the Radiated Electric Field from the In-House Broadband and High-Speed Power Line Communication in Residential Environment II

(in English) The Japanese regulation and rules on in-house broadband and high speed power line communication (PLC) were enforced on 4 October 2006, and supposed, with 99% probability, to suppress the radiated electric field (REF) at a distance of 10m or 30m, below the ambient noise level by restricting the common mode (CM) current measured by an ISN with LCL=16dB. However actual excess of REF is higher than the ambient noise level by more than 40dB. Thus we measured the REF, forward/reflected currents and so on by using a few commercially available PLC modems in order to investigate the origin of the excess REF and possible problems of the technical basis for the Japanese PLC modem. In addition, we propose to improve values of the technical basis.
