On the Measurement of Fatigue in Muscular Tissue Based Fractal Analyses

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The purpose of this study is to show the fractal properties of electromyogram (EMG) and measurement of fatigue in muscular tissue. One fatigues on keeping physical motion. Quantitative analysis for changes in the muscular fatigue is an important challenge in engineering fields. If the fatigue is quantitatively measured, then it will enable us to evaluate things, for example: viable motion time, load by moving, effect by training and so on. In this paper, we utilize the fractal analysis in EMG signal. As a result, the fractal dimension is observed to keep decreasing and it fluctuates in response to physical motions. It is obtained that the fractal dimension kept increases in proportion to the number of trials.
