A Harmonic Currents Compensator for Wind Power Generation Systems with the Soft Starter Using A Hybrid Active Filter -- Starting of the Harmonic Currents Compensator --

(in English) This paper deals with a starting method for the previously proposed harmonic current compensator for wind power generation system with a soft stater using a hybrid active filter. The hybrid active filter consists of single-tuned LC and small-rated active filters. The single-tuned LC filter absorbs the harmonic current acting a phase-leading capacitor for the fundamental component. The fluctuation of the source current is caused by connecting the LC filter, and over compensation of the reactive power occurs before connecting the induction generator. This paper proposes a new control method of the hybrid active filter for avoiding the source current fluctuation and over compensation of the reactive power. The basic principle of the proposed control method is discussed in detail, and the confirmed by digital computer simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC software. Simulation results demonstrate that the current fluctuation and phase-leading current are suppressed by the proposed control method simultaneously.
