Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Use of digital consumer electronic devices over a home network has spread widely. We have proposed the on-demand VPN system using phone interfaces so that we can use digital consumer electronic devices from outside of a home network. In this paper, we propose an advanced method to create on-demand VPN by applying the 3rd Party Call Control (3pcc) signaling defined in SIP as a session management protocol. By using the method, users can set up a VPN tunnel without being at home such as from their mobile phones. We apply two different standard 3pcc methods to the on-demand VPN system and consider problems regarding authentication and authorization. Furthermore, we examine the operation of the proposed method by creating a prototype system.
