Elastic Registration of adominal CT volumes for percutaneous treatment -- Basic reseach using CT data --
Nozomi Takahashi, Tadashi Yamaguchi (Chiba Univ.) US2008-17
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The percutaneous treatment is the effective method for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In order to enable accurate guide of treatment and quantitative evaluation of treated margin, fusion of 3D data of several modalities like US image and X-ray CT image is necessary. In this study, we attempted to develop the method of fusion using non-linear and elastic registration of three-dimensional volume of CT data sets of the liver. The finite element method (FEM) is used to deform the shape of the liver elastically in consideration of liver elasticity characteristics. In the result, the proposed method has transformed the surface and internal structure of liver in high precision.
