Laser isotope separation of zirconium (3) -- Separation of useful isotope in Nuclear field --

(in English) Laser isotope separation of zirconium based on polarization selection rules has been experimentally investigated. Two-color multiphoton ionization spectra were measured using two pulsed dye lasers. The one laser wavelength was tuned to the resonance line from the ground state (0 cm-1 (J=2)-17429.86cm-1(J=1)) while the other’s was scanned. Among more than a hundred peaks, six ionization peaks showed the isotopic selectivity in their mass spectrum. The method can be also applicable to Zr-93 isotope separation.
