Quasi super continuum generation by ultra-high speed wavelength-tunable ultrashort pulse -- Evaluation of new light source for OCT --

(in English) We have generated a quasi super continuum (SC) by tuning the wavelength of ultrashort soliton pulses rapidly and evaluated as a new broadband light source for optical coherence tomography (OCT) for the first time. The scanning speed is 1 MHz and the center wavelength, bandwidth, and spectrum shape of the quasi-SC can be changed arbitrarily by use of a programmable function generator. The interference signal which has near to the theoretical axial resolution was obtained by generating a Gaussian shaped quasi-SC. It is confirmed that the quasi-SC source is useful as a new broadband light source for OCT.
