Power Handling Characteristics of a HTS Dual-mode Ring Resonator Filter

(in English) For mobile communication systems, a transmitting band pass filter with high cutoff performance will be required. A ring resonator filter with a dual-mode using high-temperature superconductor (HTS) thin films is one of the candidates of it. For devices using HTS thin films, an intermodulation distortion (IMD) performance is a significant issue due to nonlinear behaviors of HTS thin films. In this paper, we propose the dual-mode ring resonator filter with a capacitively-coupled waveguide line to generate dual-mode and discussed frequency response and power handling capability about it. The 5 GHz band dual-mode filter using YBa2Cu3O7-x thin films was designed and fabricated. The fabricated filter had equivalent frequency response of a two-pole filter with two attenuation poles and third order IMD performance of -60 dBc with an output power of 35 dBm at a temperature of 65 K.
