A Study on Conversation System Using Multimodal Recollection and Association
Takeshi Yasui, Tomoaki Nakamura, Takayuki Nagai (UEC) SIS2007-85
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is thought that one of the differences for the thought process in conversation between the computers and humans originates in the point that humans use perceptual information, which is associated with words, and associative recall. In this paper, a conversation system using multimodal sensory information from a camera, microphones and so on is studied. The proposed system is based on perceptually-grounded concepts, which are generated with multimodal information, and the multimodal recollection and association in order to mimic the human though processes. This report describes a problem on the conventional dialogue systems at first and then, the proposed multimodal dialogue system is introduced. The proposed system is implemented on a PC and the behavior of the system is explained with some conversation examples to validate the proposed system.
