Analysis of Human body Surface Electric Field Pattern using the Transmitting Antenna in a Capsule Endoscope
Eiji Murakuni, Kenji Shiba (Hiroshima Univ.) EMCJ2007-127
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Recently, there has been considerable progress in the development of wireless capsule endoscopes for taking video images of digestive organs. The image data of the digestive organs is received by the receiving antenna attached to the body surface. Considering the practical use of the endoscopes, it is clear that the relation between the shape of the antenna and the electric field pattern on the body surface is important. In this study, we analyze the electric field on the body surface by using an electromagnetic simulator (Micro Stripes) and employing the TLM method. We examine the influence of the antenna on the electric field pattern in the presence and absence of a biological tissue in the vicinity of the antenna and when the distance between the battery and the antenna is varied.
