In heterogeneous wireless networks, we experience deterioration in quality of applications’ communications during handover. Therefore, it is effective to reduce the number of handover in order to improve the quality. In this paper, we propose radio map platform based on Cognitive Wireless Clouds that we have been developing, and also propose algorithms to find the best access point (AP) to handover by comparing terminal’s trace data of connected APs with accumulated trace data reported from many terminals in the network. Our simulation results show that the proposed algorithms achieve the reduction in the number of handovers. |
