A Study on Error Correction Using Block Turbo Codes in Key Agreement Scheme Based on Radio Propagation

(in English) As a countermeasure scheme against eavesdroppers in wireless communications,
key agreement schemes, using an
ESPAR (Electronically Steerable Parasitic Array Radiator) antenna and
the reversibility of the radio propagation, have been proposed.
However, the schemes require an error correction process to avoid a key disagreement
between legitimate users.
This paper proposes an error correction scheme using product codes,
which can be decoded by a turbo decoder.
Simulation results conducted assuming an indoor environment show that
the proposed error correction scheme achieves
block error rate of $10^{-2}$ at SNR of 12 dB.
Moreover, conditional mutual information is calculated for
the quantitative evaluation of safety,
so that the proposed scheme is more effective at low SNR, compared with
the conventional scheme using a table-aided decoding.
