(in English) We have proposed an all-optical modulation format conversion scheme from non-return-to-zero on-off-keying (NRZ-OOK) to return-to-zero (RZ) multiple-level phase-shift-keying (PSK) based on fiber nonlinearity.
We introduce the proposed conversion scheme and the feasibility is shown by numerical simulation. We also experimentally demonstrate the error free operation of NRZ-OOK/ RZ- quadrature PSK (QPSK) conversion at 10.7 Gbit/s. In addition, we propose a dispersion managed scheme to improve the conversion characteristics.
