Color of stained pathological images varies depending on staining conditions and to correct such color variation a color correction method for H&E stained pathological images was previously proposed using multispectral camera system, i.e. bands>3. However, it is difficult to introduce multispectral camera systems to general pathological institutions from the point of view of cost and operability. Hence in this paper the utility of RGB camera for color correction of H&E stained pathological images is investigated. In the method Wiener matrix for each staining condition is prepared in advance and is selected suitably based on the RGB signal values of the test image. The results show that it is possible to correct the color variations of H&E stained pathological images using RGB camera systems. |
