| (in English) | The elderly, whose walking function declined, use a four-castered walker. They sometimes cannot put on its brakes at the appropriate time, because of their lower speed of reaction. As a result, he/she will be fall down. Our system aims to improve the safety of walker, through detecting his/her unstable motions and controlling its brakes. We have designed the detection algorithm by using two parameters: speed of walker and distance between walker and its user. It is implemented within ``Unstable Motion Detect System.'' This system can recognize necessity of brakes 600 milliseconds on average before subjects manually put on brakes. This recognition ratio is correctly achieved over 70 percent. | |
