A Simulation Study of Obtaining High Gain Edge of Coverage on a Class of 100 Multi Beam Antenna

(in English) A simulation study of obtaining high gain edge of coverage on a class of 100 multi beam antenna, which has many
frequency re-use is described. In order to have much isolation between beams, it is necessary not only to make
sidelobe low, but also to enlarge distance of same frequency re-use beams, consequently this results in constrains of
decreasing EOC gain. We propose design method to obtain high isolations of re-use beams, even distance of re-use
beams is close, for cases that the position of the peak of a beam and null of another re-use frequency beam to be
coincident. This means that beam orthogonal property are maintained in this condition. In using this beam layout,
a lot of beams are arranged with dense beams. As a consequent of this beam layout, it makes cross over level high,
which also obtains high gain in service area. Several simulation results of multi beam design with large deployable
reflector around 20m are indicated in this paper as for examples, and C/I improvement results are described by
forcing constraints of number of beam at the same time.
