Adaptive array antenna with liquid crystal loaded phase shifter

(in English) We have researched and developed a liquid crystal loaded adaptive devices. In this paper, as an application of these, we report on the basic study to control tilt angle of main beam synthesized with plane patch antenna composed of four elements with liquid crystal loaded phase shifter.
First, the frequency performances and the voltage characteristics of micro stripline type liquid crystal loaded phase shifter were shown, and it was shown the phase difference of a phase shifter could be control by the applied voltage.
Next, the radiation pattern of arrayed patch antenna were obtained by the analytical theory and simulated calculation. It was shown to control the phase according to the applied voltage to the phase shifter, and to be able to control the tilt angle of the main beam. The simulation results are good agreement with the theoretical results.
