Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In this study, we built a spiking network model of the cerebellar granular layer, and analyzed its dynamics. When input stimulus was weak, model granule cells synchronously fired at around 10 Hz. On the other hand, when input stimulus was strong, populations of active granule cells represented the passage-of-time. Therefore, it was suggested that the dynamical state of the cerebellar granular layer was controlled by the strength of mossy fiber
activation. Moreover, if the NMDA channel at model Golgi cells was blocked, the transition was not observed. In addition, we carried out simulation of the eyeblink conditioning, in which the passage-of-time representation played an essential role.
