Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) b-FeSi2 with a high refractive index of more than 5.2 has been expected application to high contrast photonic crystals. However, large reflections are observed at the boundary of high contrast photonic crystals. We devised a photonic crystal with conjugated inversion lattices which can be easily fabricated by the usual process. The photonic crystals were analyzed by FDTD method. The incident light at wavelength matching with optical conditions of photonic crystals for both air-columns and β-FeSi2 ones could propagate along waveguides. Then, the maximum transmittance was 89%.
