Tele-traffic Analysis of a Single-server Queuing System with Time-out Scheme

(in English) We consider a renewal input, general service time, single-server, infinite-capacity queuing system with generally distributed time-out scheme. We obtain two-moment formulas for the mean system performance measures (the mean number of customers in the system, the mean response time) by solving the diffusion (Fokker-Planck) equation subject to the reflecting barrier. Our tele-traffic model is reduces to the standard GI/GI/1 system if we do not take account of time-out scheme. Our performance measure formula is seen to be consistent with D.P. Heyman’s formula for the GI/GI/1 system without time-out scheme.
