A Speckle noise reduction method based on the Speckle modeling is proposed as preprocessing for the edge detection of Ultrasound images (US). This paper present an interpolation preprocessing for a modeling of US images which contains speckle noise and noise reduction method based on wavelet filtering. First, we performed the interpolation for the modeling of US synthetic image by using a polynomial function of the Vandermonde matrix, and then evaluated the noise reduction properties with changing the derivation of speckle noise. The result shows that a modeled synthetic image has a similarity with a real US image and the wavelet filter has a good performance for noise reduction. By using the synthetic US image, the ability of finding contours are significantly improved on US image. Finally, we have obtained a quantitative analysis of the proposed method with conventional edge detector. |
