[Poster Presentation] A study on soft decision based cooperative sensing in consideration of interference with primary users

(in English) In this report, we propose a soft decision based cooperative sensing in consideration of interference level at primary users in cognitive radio networks. Secondary users which can share the frequency with primary users by sensing a surrounding radio environment can communicate under no interference with primary users. For realizing the frequency sharing system, it is needed that secondary users should avoid interference with primary users. In other words, secondary users should decide whether they interfere with primary users or not correctly. Recently, Cooperative sensing (CS), where multiple secondary users
cooperative each other to achieve higher detection performance, has been investigated. However, the exiting sensing metrics which has been investigated can not ensure the interference level with primary users because of deciding only whether the primary users exist around secondary users or not. Then, we replace the determination whether secondary users interference with primary users or not by the determination whether the signal from primary users is lower than the threshold or not. Through the computer simulation, we have shown that our proposal method can keep the outage probability at a steady value and soft decision based CS can achieve lower PFA of primary users than hard decision based CS.
