Standardization for Local Fractal Dimension and Its Characteristics in Discrete Time Series

(in English) The local fractal dimension and the local contribution ratio in discrete time series have been already proposed and many examples have also shown in the various scientific fields. The standardization of the LFD and LCR has been proposed in this paper. The proposed LSFD and LSCR as new indices indicate the power ratio against the standard deviation in the given short time series. It is based on the same idea of the so-called SN ratio, and then the standardization based on the actual observed values can be carried out. Applied to the difference time series between altitudinal seawater temperatures, it can be seen that moving LSFD and moving LCSR are changing together with almost the same values. As applications to random processes, the various interesting features can be observed, and the possibility of the classification for general time series is suggested using these results.
