Fast SAR measurement method based on the theoretical SAR estimation and probe array

(in English) The compliance test procedures for Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) measurement with respect to mobile wireless terminals have been standardized by the IEC and the IEEE. The procedure for the SAR measurement described in the standards provides precise measurement. However, the SAR measurement is time consuming when these standard methods are applied. Therefore, we have proposed the SAR estimation method that theoretically estimates the SAR, which applies the Maxwell’s equation and the Equivalent theorem, previously. This paper proposes a new SAR estimation method that estimates the SAR by the simpler procedure than the previous method. In order to verify the proposed estimation method, we investigated the validity of the estimated results by numerical calculations and experiments. As a result, it is confirmed that the proposed method is enough accurate for the SAR measurement. Furthermore, this paper also proposes the electric field detection probe array in order to fasten the measurement time of 2-dimensional electric field. We confirmed that we can measure the electric field with high accuracy using proposed probe array and the probe array has the potential to measure the 3-dimensional SAR distribution in a short time when used in combination with the SAR estimation methods.
