This paper presents the computational electromagnetic field dosimetry inside the embryo/fetus in the early stage of pregnancy by plane-wave exposure. \ First, 4-, 8-, 12-pregnant-week model, which is composed of the Japanese-average-female-voxel model and cubic or spheroidal embryo/fetus, is presented. Next, dielectric properties of the embryo/fetus is compensated using the difference of water content. Finally, the SAR in three types of embryo/fetus, is calculated using the FDTD method over the frequency range from 10 MHz to 2 GHz, when the model is exposed to the E- and H-polarized plane wave. As a result, the SAR of the embryo/fetus varies very little in the early stages of pregnancy. In addition, the maximum whole-body-average SAR in the embryo/fetus by the E-polarized wave is higher than that by the H-polarized wave. Moreover, the SAR in the embryo/fetus is dependent on the position of standing wave in the horizontal direction. |
