In this work, we report on a compact wavelength-tunable transmitter based on a tunable distributed amplification DFB (TDA-DFB) laser monolithically integrated with a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) and electroabsorption modulator (EAM) for 10Gb/s WDM system. Fabricated tunable EML shows 50-GHz-spacing 8-channel tunability and low power penalty of $<$0.5\,dB after 80\,km standard single mode fiber transmission with averaged output power exceeding \textpm0\,dBm at all 8 channels. |
