A Design Rationale Elicitation Method Using Rational Decision Making to Resolve The Lack of Expression Power about QOC's Relative Weight
Yusuke Kobayashi, Atsuo Hazeyama (Tokyo Gakugei Univ.) SS2007-31
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) It is widely acknowledged that elicitation of design rationale is important in software design. Thus far, design rationale models have been proposed such as QOC (Questions, Options, and Criteria) to elicit design rationale. This study focuses on QOC and proposes a design rationale elicitation method that solves the issues pointed out by Shum, which lack expression power with respect to relative weights for criteria and options in QOC by rational decision making (RDM).By using RDM, not only relative weights for criteria and options in QOC are calculated in a rational way, but also design rationale based on QOC can be elicited as the result of RDM.
