Error Estimations of Flowmeters using Failure Diagnostics Results Based on Control Limits

(in English) The failure diagnosis of flowmeters based on control limits has been developed as a method that identifies faulty flowmeters, which should be calibrated during a maintenance period, under plant operation. This method is very useful for the diagnosis of flowmeters with faulty errors whose magnitudes are over twice their control limits. However, there is a shortcoming such that not only faulty but also allowed errors contained in the measurements of flowmeters can not be estimated. To overcome this shortcoming, the problem of error estimations for flowmeters has been formulated as a problem of quadratic programming. Furthermore, we examined whether the diagnostic results based on the control limits are improved while the errors contained in the measurements of flowmeters are estimated during plant operations.
