Electrochemical rheology of conducting polymer actuator.

(in English) The electrochemomechanical deformation in conducting polymer film has being intensively studied to develop soft actuators or artificial muscles. Attractive features of the soft actuator are low driving voltage and large stress with right weight and low cost process. The main issue in the device is a persistent elongation under loading, which is well known as creeping phenomenon in polymer film.
We assume that the ECMD behavior is the result to change the mechanical characteristics of conducting polymer film, and thus it is possible to analyze the deforming behavior with Rheological procedure. As one of the preliminary approach, this paper reports the frequency response of the ECMD behavior of Polyaniline films in various acidic conditions.
