Higher layer synchronization method on various networks

(in English) In order to perform precise timer synchronization at higher layer, it is helpful to utilize synchronized timing information at MAC/PHY layer. This paper proposes a new method to synchronize higher layer timers, by managing the timing information of both MAC/PHY layer and higher layer timers, without adding new functionalities to existing network devices. The method was implemented to synchronize MPEG2TS streams in a home theater system with wirelessly networked speakers, achieving synchronization level of a few us.
