Wide-dynamic-range image sensor for object detection

(in English) We have been investigating a method to detect moving objects to suppress an influence of change of environment light by using a different value between two image values when the modulated light is turned on and off. We propose the wide dynamic range image sensor for objects detection that correctly detects moving objects under the environment into which light brightness significantly changes. We get two values from the two capacitors that store charges by synchronizing with the modulated light in each pixel circuit. When the voltage of one capacitor exceeds a threshold voltage, the charges of same amount are removed from two capacitors, and then we achieve the wide dynamic range imaging. We describe the pixel circuit designed for the method and evaluation results of the fabricated prototype chip.
