Channel Capacity for Linear Periodically Time-variant Channels
Shinya Honda, Daisuke Umehara, Satoshi Denno (Kyoto Univ.) IT2007-10
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Indoor PLC (Power Line Communication) is one of the attractive in-home networkings. However, there are a lot of technical issues for the realization of PLC with high rate and high reliability. In this paper, we apply OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system to a linear periodically time-variant channel measured from an indoor power line channel. Furthermore, we propose a time-frequency adaptive modulation system in which multivariate QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) based on the pouring theory is allocated to each subcarrier. We evaluate channel capacities of the periodically time-variant, multiplexing, binary symmetric channels (BSCs) obtained from each adaptive modulation, Gray coding, additive white Gaussian noise, and symbol decision.
