FDTD Parallel Computation of Scattering and Attenuation Characteristics of X-ray in Bio-medical Cell Tissues

(in English) X-ray diagnosis depends on the intensity of transmitted and scattered waves in X-ray propagation in biomedical media. X-ray is scattered and absorbed by tissues, such as fat, bone and internal organs. To obtain precise information of tissues in a living body, the accurate characteristics of scattering and absorption are required. Particularly, scattered waves in biological media cause serious determination of image quality. In this paper, X-ray scattering and absorption in biomedical media are studied using 2-dimensional FDTD method. To analyze the area larger than the wavelength, parallel computing using grid computer is considered. Also, new FDTD algorithm based on the solution of large linear equation is studied to demonstrate the simulation with less memory comparing to the normal FDTD method.
