All-optical 2R-Regenerative interconnection node for DPSK polarization-division multiplexed systems

(in English) In this paper, we propose an all-optical 2R-regenerative interconnection node that connects wide area network (WAN) and metro area network (MAN) for differential phase-shift keying (DPSK) polarization-division multiplexed (PDM) signals for the future all-optical network. The interconnection node has functions including the format conversion from RZ-DPSK/PDM to on-off keying (OOK) and the all-optical 2R-regeneration for the signal quality improvement. We then report the experimental results of the interconnection node performance for 80-Gbit/s, RZ-DPSK PDM signals.
