Extraction of the global signal from multi-channel noisy signals and its application in EEG processing

(in English) We propose a signal extraction method from multi-sensor network
when each observed signal consists of a global signal and
a local uncorrelated noise.
This process can be modeled by a blind estimation method in which
the number of source signals is larger by one than the number of observations.
We propose an efficient method to estimate the mixing matrix.
We also provide two criteria to extract the global
signal.
By estimating the mixing matrix, we can 1) extract
the global signal, 2) find sensors which contains the global
signals well, 3) rank sensors in order of information with respect to
global signal,
and 4) estimate the distribution map of the global signal.
This method is useful in many fields using multi-sensor.
We show the advantage in an application to
Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals that contain huge noise
(less than -20dB).
