Studies on a Cavity-Backed Slot Antenna Using a Conducting Textile Fabric and its Wearable Application

(in English) A slot antenna backed by a rectangular cavity composed of conducting textile fabrics is proposed and its characteristics are studied. An application of this antenna is a wearable antenna that is able to be integrated into clothes by making it only of textile fabrics. The dependency of the dimension on the resonant frequency is simulated to obtain the target operation frequency. The thickness of the prototype antenna is 2.5mm, and its resonant frequency is about 2.45GHz. The experimental results of the reflection coefficient and the radiation patterns of the antenna are presented. The reflection coefficient in the case of bending the antenna, and the gain deterioration when there is water behind the antenna are also shown.
