| (in English) | During making contacts of an electromagnetic relay, mechanical collision of contacting electrodes causes bounces. It is well known that bounces cause damage of contacts and lives of contacts are reduced. Up to now, such bounces have been taken up with many papers. If the transient current switch circuit is applied to an electromagnetic relay, arc discharge is suppressed. Then, consumption and metastasis of the contact electrodes decrease drastically. For suppressing bounces, change in shape of contacting electrode would be possible and effective. Therefore, we sharpen contact electrodes and measured electric characteristic and displacement of movable electrode using optical displacement sensor. Synchronized measurements of V-I characteristics and mechanical motions show that the second order mechanical resonance mode of a bending electrode plate cause bounces as well as the first resonance mode. | |
