Sliced microstrip line resonator (MSLR) filters at 5 GHz were designed and fabricated for use as tunable high-power transmit filters in the 4th generation mobile communication systems. A power handling capability of the 3-pole sliced MSLR filer was approximately 5.0 dB larger than that of the 3-pole non-sliced MSLR filer, and was correspond to the prediction, 4.4 dB, from the simulated current density in these filters. And, we found that a frequency shift of 500 MHz could be realized using an independently operating mechanism of a dielectric plate tuning and rod trimming by the 3 dimensional electromagnetic simulation and experiments. |
