Proposal on IP spoofing prevention method using authentication

(in English) The shift to a next-generation network (NGN) that offers various services by integration of a telephone network and a data network based on IP, is advanced. DoS/DDoS attacks to service servers are one of the highest threats in NGN. Especially, we predict that SIP server attacks cause serious damage. Most of DoS/DDoS attacks are spoofing packets of IP source address. There are uRPF (unicast Reverse Path Forwarding) method, etc. in existing IP spoofing prevention methods. But, these methods can’t prevent IP spoofing exactly. To perform a strict IP spoofing check, we propose the method that checks IP spoofing using the authentication information with in a carrier network or an ISP. In addition, we describe performance evaluation results from a viewpoint of scalability.
