The design for the bandpass filters with distributed (open-type) tap-coupling resonators, in the ultra-wideband wireless communications are considered by using the genetic algorithms. Our attention is put on the selection of the fitness functions used in the genetic algorithm in order to obtain the desired frequency characteristics. In this study, the solver for the S parameters are simplified by using the ideal distributed circuit theory. We investigate the fitness functions with considering the insertion loss of the passband, the attenuation in the stopband, and the flatness in the passband. The numerical results show that the proposed fitness function successfully finds the solution with good performance. |
