A Study on Relay Terminal aided Re-transmission Control based on Mutual Information in the Private Wireless Network

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This paper proposes the relay terminal aided re-transmission control based on the mutual information in the private wireless network. In the proposed scheme, to increase link distance in a multi-hop network thereby increasing system throughput, when a packet is not correctly transmitted to the destination, a relay that located closer to both the transmitter and receiver will re-transmit, on behalf of the transmitter, a part of its spectrum which were seriously damaged in the previous transmission in a shorter time, where the amount of spectrum to be fed back is determined by the mutual information obtained from the received signal. Computer simulation shows that the proposed scheme is effective in enhancement of throughput, especially in the low signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) region.
