Cong Frequency Spectrum Rotation in Interleaved FDM
Osamu Takyu, Masao Nakagawa (Keio Univ.) RCS2006-239
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Interleaved Frequency Division Multiple Access (IFDM) can achieve high diversity gain as well as can support multiple access users with using cong frequency orthogonal channels. In IFDM, as the number of repetitions is increased, the comb spectrum frequency component to the entire frequency width ratio becomes small so that frequency diversity gain is decreased. In addition, IFDM suffers from inter path interference in multipath fading channel. In the proposed cong frequency spectrum rotation (frequency rotation), each modulation symbol is assigned to the different comb frequency spectrum. As a result, the frame composed of some modulation symbols are spread over the wider frequency spectrum than that without frequency rotation. In addition, the interference path interference can be reduced because the time continuous symbols are orthogonal each other. From the computer simulation, the frequency rotation can achieve the better error rate performance.
