Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, a guard interval (GI) is usually used to remove the inter-symbol interference(ISI) due to a multipath fading channel. The GI length must be longer than the maximum delay. In this paper, we propose an adaptive control method of guard interval length. In this method, a channel impulse response is estimated by applying inverse fast fourier transform (IFFT) to the estimated frequency-domain channel response by the equalizer. Next, the maximum delay of channel impulse response is estimated from the channel impulse response, and the optimal length of the guard interval is decided by the maximum delay.
