A Quasi-Orthogonal Space-Time Block Code with low complexity decoding
Yuichi Ikeda, Koichiro Wakasugi (KIT)
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Transmit diversity is a powerful tool for broadband wireless communications over multipath fading channels. A full rate transmission with four transmit antennas can not be achieved by using orthogonal space-time block codes, however it can be realized with quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes even in case of four transmit antennas. Some quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes have a problem for a simple separate decoding, i.e., decoding complexity being a serious problem. In this report, we propose a kind of quasi-orthogonal space-time block code which can realize one third decoding complexity with the same order bit-error performance of conventional quasi-orthogonal space-time block codes. And then, we have evaluated the performance by a computer simulation.
